I mentioned in a previous post how I’ve tried — without success — to find a liquid foundation that feels nice on my skin. Well, I think I found it. When I made the decision to try liquid foundation again, I knew I wanted a high-end product. The brand that stood out to me was NARS, because everyone in the beauty community raved about the brand.
So I went to NARS in Mid Valley with the aim of getting only the foundation. Well, I walked out of the store with that, and two other items. I think I spent more that I should but I have no regrets and I’ve never been happier with my purchases.
All-Day Luminous Weightless Foundation
I got the All-Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in the shade medium 1.5 (Vallauris). It’s liquidy — it almost feels like water on your skin. I blend it on my face with my fingers, and their claim of “seamless blending with just one pump” is true. I even have leftovers on my palm, and I used them to build coverage on areas that needed it the most, such as my under-eye area and any discolouration on my face.
To set my face after foundation, I use the pressed powder in the shade Desert to set my foundation and I can say that the shade I got complements the shade of my foundation. The foundation itself has a semi to fully matte finish, but I use the pressed powder to set the places where it’d usually get oily, i.e: my T-zone area. Throughout the day, when my face feels extra oily, I’ll use it to reduce shine.
Look, I’m all about matte lipsticks but I’ve always been wary about wearing super bright colours on my lips. So I wanted to push my own boundaries this time so I got the shade Silvia and it’s the perfect purple-pink shade for me. Described on the website as a “radiant orchid” shade, I think this a beautiful lipstick everyone should have in their collection.
