As much as I love shopping at Sephora, recently I managed to find some items at the drugstore that I wanted to try. Here are some of the drugstore makeup that I’ve bought recently and have been using on a daily basis.
- Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in #53 Beige Clair/Light Beige
I’ve seen a lot of beauty Youtubers using and raving about this so it’s been on my ‘To Try’ list for quite some time. It has a yellow undertone it has a luminous, dewy finish — not my favourite finish, to be honest. But I have been enjoying this a lot. I love the fruity scent and I love how it blends out smoothly and evenly on my skin. - Revlon Colorstay Foundation in #310 Warm Golden
Another drugstore foundation that I have been enjoying a lot these days. Unlike the Bourjois one, this has a more pinky undertone, which suits my skin tone very well. It has a semi-matte finish — my favourite kind — and it feels very moisturising too. It blends really well and sometimes I like to mix this with a tiny bit of the Bourjois one, I feel it gives a subtle luminosity to my skin. - Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser
I love, love, love this primer. It does a really good job at blurring my pores, and it has this texture that I really cannot explain. It comes out of the tube like a gel, but it feels very velvety when I apply it on my skin, if that makes sense? It goes on smoothly on my skin and it’s a nice base to put any foundation on. - Maybelline Velvet Matte Lip Colour in MAT12
I’ve reviewed this lip colour in a previous post. It’s still not my favourite, but I try to make it work because I don’t want to waste it. I typically line my lips with a darker shade first before applying this on top. - Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia
I found this while I was in Bandung, Indonesia a month ago and I use it every night before I go to sleep. It keeps my lips moisturised and hydrated throughout the night and I have a serious case of dry lips. And the best part? It smells so yummy! - Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Matte Powder in #53 Beige Clair
I carry this powder everywhere I go and I’ve been using this every day. I even prefer this over my NARS Pressed Powder. That’s how much I love this product. It does the job of keeping my face matte, but not for 10 hours as it says on the packaging. I still had to blot my face after, like, 6 hours of having it on. Still pretty damn good, considering the fact that I live in a hot and humid country.
I can’t wait to try other drugstore items, like Collection, Rimmel, L’oreal, Essence and Catrice soon!
